William “Reggie” Ruggiero

Senior Advisor

Worker safety is a family tradition for William “Reggie” Ruggiero, as he is related to longtime labor leader and activist Tony Mazzocchi of the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union. Mazzocchi is widely credited with being the primary force behind the enactment of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.

William started his professional career in community service, nonprofit housing, and urban development. He has since been involved in boutique and large-scale construction. Focused on bringing seemingly disparate stakeholders to areas of agreement, William has coordinated projects as varied as luxury high rises, senior housing, co-op conversions, single-family gut renovations, and rural land purchases. As a nonprofit housing executive, he oversaw millions of dollars in federal, state, and local development initiatives, and led compliance efforts for large housing grant awards.

William’s real estate career spans decades as a developer, construction manager, and project manager. He has broad experience in the public development processes of city, state, and federal housing agencies. He has in-depth knowledge of the constraints and challenges involved in the development of publicly funded projects. William’s years of leading successful projects have depended on and deepened his ability to forge partnerships with funding agencies, non-profit organizations, community development groups, investors, and financial institutions.

William’s core competencies include Publicly Funded Grant Administration; Contract Negotiation & Review; Contract Compliance; Grant Project/Fiscal Reporting; Public Bidding; Labor and Prevailing Wage Standards; EEO; Contractor and Subcontractor Coordination; and Arbitration and Conflict Resolution.

At the heart of all of William’s efforts has been worker safety. No project, he first learned in nonprofit building, can be successful or compliant without making safety the top priority for all involved, from GCs to Subs and all vendors. Work done right is safe for employees, the neighborhood around the project, and the wider city.
